Motherhood to Different Women
It is always been an overwhelming situation whenever I
come to know that someone is pregnant. A blend of feelings; love, pain,
excitement, anxiousness and sense of relief comes all together in one package.
However, the question of admiring motherhood and not going for it remains under
debate for many. Let me take you through the glance of different women that how
do they perceive it.
First one is my dear friend Khushi. Her biggest dream of her life is to give birth to another human being. The idea of getting married does not seem that fascinating to her as compare to the idea and process that she is capable enough to produce another living being. Her this desire makes me fall in love with her dream.
Second is my teacher. She said once “Being a mother is
a huge responsibility but its that much rewarding that you hardly care about
being responsible for the whole life time”. Her thought makes clear sense to
me. I have seen mothers who suffer day and night for their children but the
moment they see their child, their happiness turns out to be the most rewarding
thing in their life.

All the above thoughts seem beautiful and blissful.
However, motherhood or parenting have always appeared very different to me. In
my opinion, being a mother is not only about giving a birth; it is a lifelong
emotional and physical relation where you love (selflessly), care, protect and
nurture another human being. I wonder sometimes, grape wine plant of my terrace
was more intelligent than human. It was not giving a fruit unless the support
of bamboos was there. Similarly, nurturing environment and sense of security is
essential in the decision to become a mother. I believe, its not only food,
shelter or education which you suppose to give your children; embracing their
being and helping them to become emotionally and physically healthy are
important. I believe, carrying and feeding a child are not enough to qualify for a mother. It must be more than that.
